The technical story began in 1962 with a patent and the first packaging-machine prototype; an independent three-person operation followed in 1963. Today’s Pavel Gerätebau GmbH has operated since 2001: Pavel-brand film compactors and precision metal processing from Halle/Westfalen serve businesses far beyond OWL.

From the workshop to the KP series.

1956–1963

Workshop work becomes an independent business.

The earliest sources do not show a ready-made success story, but technical curiosity, an early prototype and the step into self-employment.

    The workshop as a starting point

    Even before running his own business, Wilfried Pavel worked on machines and technical solutions.

  2. 1962/63

    From invention to a three-person business

    The first patent and an early packaging-machine prototype were created in 1962; according to a contemporary newspaper source, the independent three-person business followed in 1963.

1974–1988

Systems engineering expands beyond the local area.

Trade fairs, conveyor technology and larger systems mark a phase in which individual machines developed into production solutions used internationally.

    First documented trade fair in England

    PAVEL reached beyond its home market at an early stage and presented packaging machines to an international specialist audience.

  2. 1980–82

    Overhead conveyor systems for the garment industry

    Large-scale systems combined conveyor technology and production practice to create automated processes.

  3. 1988

    25 years in business and international presence

    The local press reported 40 employees and representatives in several Asian and North American markets.

Product line

Film waste becomes a dedicated development line.

The KP 100 and KP 2000 represent the gradual application of a simple principle to larger material flows directly at the production line.

From his own equipment business to today’s KP series.

Klaus Pavel made a fresh entrepreneurial start with high-performance blowers of his own design and carried the experience with film compactors forward in today’s Pavel Gerätebau GmbH.

  1. 2001

    Incorporation of PAVEL Gerätebau GmbH

    A newspaper clipping documents Klaus Pavel with the first series of his own high-performance blowers; ten units had already been sold, and at the outset he worked in a hall rented by his father, Wilfried Pavel. The incorporation of today’s GmbH marks the beginning of PAVEL Gerätebau’s current legal entity.

  2. 2019

    PAVEL exhibiting at ICE Europe

    PAVEL took part in the Munich trade fair; the official visitor brochure documents the company as an exhibitor.

  3. 2025

    First public presentation of the KP2000 MAX

    At ICE Europe in Munich, PAVEL presented the new top model of the KP series to the public for the first time.

  4. 2026

    25 years of Pavel Gerätebau GmbH

    The independent restart developed into today’s GmbH, combining KP-series film compactors with precision metal processing from Halle/Westfalen.

  5. Today

    Mechanical engineering and metal processing under one roof

    Design, mechanical engineering and precision metal processing work together directly at the Halle/Westfalen site.

During a tour, Mayor Thomas Tappe learned about our film compactors, metal processing services and the development of the company. The City of Halle (Westf.) presents PAVEL as a medium-sized mechanical engineering company with a strong technical tradition and a contribution to regional value creation.
